Wahoo, NE-- The Wahoo Locker was busy tending to it's customers Saturday morning. Hundreds came to celebrate the store's grand reopening after it had been shut down for five months.
Back in May 2013, flames engulfed the old meat house.
Wahoo Locker associate, Joann Cejka said, "When I came back, I was in shock because I was expecting to get back to work.
Now the locker is filled with new deli and kitchen items, something that they never had.
"There's a full service deli case, we're selling fresh steak, fresh hamburger, and customers can pick out their cut of meat...that's something we've never offered before," said owner, Charlie Emswiler.
The 17,000 square-feet warehouse has the capacity to process meats in the back, have larger coolers, and produce more meat.
"We have a lot more room, so we don't touch elbows all day," said Emswiler.
For Rita Kavan who has been shopping at the store for 30 years, she is amazed. "It's wonderful! All the things they have here, because they never had all the varieties."
The company is running at full speed and everyone can start fresh.
"Now this whole new place is great, I can't wait to start working," said Cejka.
