20 year old Andrew Walker has been sentenced to prison in connection with the drug overdose death of 12 year old Serena Garrett of Lincoln.
He was charged with First Degree Attempted Sexual Assault and Child Abuse.
Under the Order of Sentence, Walker was "committed to an institution under the jurisdiction of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services for a period of not less than 3 years , nor more than 6 years
on Count 1."
On Count 2 he has to serve at least 20 months. The sentences run
Walker also must register under the Nebraska Sex Offender Registration Act.
After the sentencing today, family members on both sides reacted
strongly, saying it was either too light or too strong.
