To help ease congestion and reduce the potential for crashes involving injuries, the Nebraska State Patrol will have extra troopers on patrol before and after this Saturday's NU-Penn State game.
The special enforcement is the second in a series of special efforts planned for the remaining Husker home games.
Traffic enforcement will also be conducted during the November 17, NU-Minnesota contest.
Troopers and Communication Specialists with State Patrol Headquarters Troop- Lincoln and Troop A- Omaha will work overtime hours paid for, in part, by a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
Game day traffic reports will also be provided by the Nebraska State Patrol Aviation Support Division.
Drivers are reminded to allow plenty of time to reach their destination, obey posted speed limits, always wear their seat belt and never drive impaired or distracted.
Game day travelers are reminded they could encounter slow downs on westbound I-80 near the Aurora Exit as bridge construction continues to reduce traffic to one lane.
