GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- The Nebraska State Patrol Troop C- Grand Island says troopers will conduct two weekends of special enforcement activities in conjunction with the Nebraska State Fair.
“It’s no surprise the State Fair increases traffic volume on area roads,” said Captain Chris Kolb, Commander Troop C-Grand Island. “By making our troopers visible and available, we hope to reduce the potential for crashes by encouraging voluntary compliance with all traffic safety laws.”
Troopers will conduct high visibility patrols in and around Hall County during the evening and early morning hours on Saturday, August 23 and Saturday, August 31.
NSP says a $1,450 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS) will help pay for the overtime utilized by troopers and communication specialists during the special enforcement.
