Wichita Man Arrested in Plot to Blow Up Mid-Continent Airport

Authorities say a Kansas man accused of planning to detonate a car bomb at the Wichita airport has been arrested.

U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom and Special Agent in Charge Michael Kaste of the FBI office in Kansas City have announced charges against a 58-year-old who planned to drive a car bomb into Mid-Continent Airport.

Grissom said Terry Lee Loewen planned to drive a car that he believed was full of explosives into a terminal at the airport.

Investigators say Loewen is an avionics technician who lives in Wichita and works at the airport.
