Will the VP Debate Impact Votes?
The VP debate is now history. And the question now is this: Will it impact how voters cast their ballots in November?
Depends whom you ask.
In downtown Lincoln Thursday, hours before the debate, 1011 conducted a non-scientific survey, basically asking people on the streets if the VP debate would or might make them change their vote.
"May the best man win," said one lady.
Another man told us, "Maybe it might change my decision."
"I pretty much got my mind made up already," said yet another man.
One UNL Political Science professor, Dona Gene-Mitchell, told 1011 News "Most voters make their choices either during or before the Conventions."
Our survey on the streets was clearly an unscientific one. The real deal is when voters head to the polls next month.
That was, by the way, the first and last VP debate for this 2012 election.
