With Gold Building Lot Gone, Husker Fans Search for New Tailgate Spots

Lincoln, NE-- The Nebraska Spring Football game is on Saturday, and it's giving fans, including tailgaters something to look forward to.

Following the destruction and reconstruction of the Gold Building Parking Lot on 10th and M Streets, many tailgaters are looking for a new spot to roll out the barbecue and ice chests.

"It was pretty sad really because we've been there several years and everyone knew where we were at," said Terry Neemann. "And easy for us to find, right down 10th Street straight to the stadium. So it was pretty nice for everybody to stop down by there and have a fresh cold drink and some food."

Neemann says his family and friends have paid for a spot in a small lot near 7th and L Streets.

"A little farther away," said Neemann. "Probably be a little harder for people to find us."

For those who haven't found an alternative yet, there are other options including the Festival Parking Space near Pinnacle Bank Arena and Haymarket Park.

A spokesperson with the Festival Space says there are around 300 seasonal parking spots left and it likely won't sell out this season.

Pricing for those spots are as follows:
$275 per vehicle, and $1,000 per RV.

The costs do not include anything extra like food or drinks.
