Woman Arrested for Embezzling Money From Russ's Market

Lincoln Police arrest a Lincoln woman on accusations she embezzled nearly $9,000 from Russ's Market.

According to reports, 21-year-old Ashley Yonkey is in jail on the felony charge of theft by deception over $1,500.

Police said the theft happened at the 33rd and Highway 2 store, where Yonkey worked.

Police said the thefts spanned a period between Nov. 13 and April 6. The items missing were mostly cash and cigarettes.

A Russ's investigation began when they noticed a discrepancy with merchandise and cash. The store contacted police, who then arrested Yonkey.

Yonkey was lodged in jail on April 10.
