LINCOLN, Neb. -- Lincoln Police say the woman killed in the motorcycle/SUV wreck late Saturday night at Cotner and O Street is 21-year-old Jessie McCain of Lincoln.
She was a passenger on the motorcycle.
The 21-year-old man driving the motorcycle is identified as Tyler Wilson, also of Lincoln. He is in critical condition at Bryan West Trauma Center.
Just after 11 p.m. Saturday, rescue crews were called to the intersection of Cotner and O Streets after a report of a crash between a SUV and motorcycle.
Several witness told 10/11 the motorcycle was traveling east on O when it broad-sided a Jeep Liberty as the SUV was turning to go west on O from Cotner.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue transported the driver of the Yahama street bike to the hospital. A woman died at the scene.
Police closed the intersection one block in each direction from the scene while they conducted their investigation and accident scene reconstruction. The roads were open about 3:15 a.m.
10/11 News received conflicting reports from witnesses saying the driver of the motorcycle was driving only on his front wheel before the impact. Other witnesses said the motorcycle was on both wheels just before the crash. Police have not indicated their findings.
