A Lincoln woman was taken to the hospital after mistakenly knocking on her neighbor's door.
Just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday, police were called to the 1900 block of S. 27th Street for a reported burglary in progress.
Police report the woman had just returned from a company party and believed she had been locked out of her own house. She began beating and kicking the door. The homeowner went to the door and the woman threatened to shoot through the door when he refused to open it. That is when the man who owns the home called police.
According to police, the homeowner was finally able to recognize the woman as his next door neighbor. He went outside to help her but she tried to get into the house and he pushed her out, causing her to fall.
Someone who lives with the woman in the house next door, came to collect her as police arrived.
The woman was taken to the hospital for an injury to her lip.
No citations were issued to the woman or the homeowner.
According to police, alcohol was a factor in the incident
