A young man is now in stable but serious condition following a boating accident at Branched Oak Lake on Memorial Day, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
The victim has also been identified as 26-year-old Kent Seevers, of Lincoln.
According to Lancaster County Deputy Sheriff Dennis Guthard, the accident happened around 4 p.m.
Guthard said a man fell while wake-boarding, and when the driver turned to go get him, one of the two young men on the front of the boat fell into the water.
Guthard said Seevers hit the propeller and has deep lacerations to his chest and arms. His injuries are life threatening.
CPR was given to Seevers at the scene, and then he was transported to a Lincoln hospital for emergency surgery.
Guthard said the driver had not been drinking.
