Adult residential and outpatient services at the Hastings Regional Center will be discontinued next month. That word yesterday from state Health and Human Services.
The chemical dependency treatment program for boys from the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center at Kearney and the adolescent mental health program will continue on the Hastings campus.
Admissions to adult residential services have been in decline since October 2006. There have been no admissions to the adult outpatient program since 2005.
Spokeswoman Jeanne Atkinson said the adult residential services program will close once the four patients in the program are moved to community-based services or into one of regional centers in Norfolk or Lincoln.
