Challenging travel conditions aren't stopping the NSAA from holding its swimming and diving championships in Lincoln.
The event kicked off at the Devaney Center on Thursday morning with diving. Swimming is on the schedule for Friday and swimming finals are set for Saturday.
Many of those who competed on Thursday, live outside of Lincoln. Jenna Christiansen of Fairbury said getting to the event wasn't a problem, but said she's a little bit worried about getting home. "I think it will probably be a little bit tricky leaving today we won't know though because there's no windows. We'll have to just see when we walk out those doors, we may be stuck at Devaney for a little bit," said Christiansen.
Schools from across the state provided buses to transport the student athletes to Lincoln. Many also arranged longer hotel stays for the students and their families in case they got snowed in.
