Hofstra Student Killed by Police During Break-in

Posted: 5:15 AM - Officials say a New York college student was accidentally killed by a police officer as she was held in a headlock by an intruder pointing a gun at her head during a break-in at an off-campus home. Nassau County police said Hofstra University junior Andrea Rebello was killed after being shot in the head when police responded to a break-in early Friday.
