Amy Heidemann as very fond memories of her time in Boston.
Not only did she meet her fiance there while attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music. She also kicked off what's become a promising pop-music career.
A career that got started right here in Nebraska.
Normally, this is the kind of musical dream that comes true for kids growing up on the coasts.
Not small town Nebraska girls. But don't tell that to Amy.
She's a 2005 Seward High School graduate that was destined for pop music stardom.
This homemade video ignited the blogosphere in April of 2011.
Amy says their cover of Chris Brown's "Look At Me Know" is what started the Karmin craze, "We started posting youtube videos once a week. We found that doing live performances of cover songs was kind of our thing."
Their viral video became the sixth most viewed video on the planet in 2011.
The next thing you know Ellen Degeneres became a Karminite, "It's really, really good. I love y'all together and I love that it's over 3 million hits in less than a week."
Up next for Karmin was a February appearance on one of the most iconic shows in TV history, Saturday Night Live. Nick says, "That whole week was stressful because there was a lot of pressure coming from the label and everybody kind of being like this is live, this has to be awesome."
Millions of new fans felt that it was indeed awesome. To date, Karmin videos on youtube have received for that a half a billion hits.
And then came the smash hit "Brokenhearted." Karmin's catchy hit single has registered more than a million downloads.
Amy is proud to be from Seward, Nebraska, "I just feel honored to be able to represent such a great city and having grown up in Seward and just in Nebraska in general. Everybody's family here, it's kind of crazy.
