Justin Kosmicki, a standout basketball player for the Johnson County Central Thunderbirds, recently signed his letter of intent to play basketball for the Peru State College (PSC) Bobcats. Men’s basketball coach, Troy Katen, announced the recent signing.
Kosmicki, a 6’2” 180 lb native of Elk Creek, led the JCC team to a fourth place finish in the Nebraska High School Class C-2 Tournament. The JCC team finished 25-6 for the season and was ranked fourth in both the Omaha and Lincoln papers.
Justin was named Third Super State in the Lincoln Journal Star and was the C-2 First Team State Captain. He was also the captain of the C-2 First Team for the Omaha World Herald.
Kosmicki was a three sport letter winner at JCC and plans to major in physical education while at Peru State. His parents are Lonny and Kim Kosmicki, both former PSC student-athletes.
Coach Katen on Kosmicki: “Justin is a great addition to our program. He has the ability to shoot from anywhere on the floor as well as score with his pull up jumper that is almost automatic. He'll have some adjustments to make at the collegiate level but I think his best basketball is yet to come. We are excited to keep a great talent like Justin around so that area fans can watch his growth for another four years.”
