The Hastings men, after posting a 16-4-3 record in 2009, has been selected by the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) men's soccer coaches' as the favorite for the 2010 GPAC men's soccer season.
The Bronco men, who won the GPAC last season with a 10-1-1 record, totaled 121 points and garnered 11 first place votes in the poll. Hastings advanced to the NAIA National Tournament second round last year. Sioux Falls was picked second with 103 votes and the final first place vote. Midland Lutheran, who also advanced to the NAIA National Soccer Tournament last year, was picked fifth with 87 points.
The 2010 schedule will consist of 11 league games as all 12 league teams will compete for the conference crown. This year the GPAC will have one automatic berth to the national tournament under direct qualification. The GPAC tournament champion will earn the automatic bid.
