The Doane Tigers will start the 2010 season ranked in the NAIA Top 25 for the second straight year. The poll has the Tigers ranked 20th overall after finishing the 2009 season ranked 18th. Doane qualified for the NAIA National Tournament last year.
The Tigers return four starters in addition to several players who played in the 6-2 offense. Doane will need to replace two starters and their libero from a year ago.

Doane will take on Jamestown in the season opener on August 27, with the Jimmies receiving votes in the poll. Later that day, Doane will take on Lee University who is ranked No. 4 and advanced to the NAIA Semifinals last year. On August 28, Doane will open the morning round with a match-up with No. 10 Taylor University. Taylor advanced to the championship bracket of the NAIA Tournament last year and ended their season against Lee University.
At the Bellevue Tournament on September 3, Doane will open with No. 12 Olivet Nazarene University. Later in the day the Tigers will take on Tabor College, who is receiving votes. Baker University is on the Tiger's schedule on September 4 and the Wildcats are receiving votes.
The Hastings Invite will feature a tough first day as Doane will take on Oklahoma Baptist University and College of the Ozarks. Both teams are receiving votes in the NAIA poll and will face the Tigers on September 10.
