Nebraska Wesleyan University senior outside hitter Laura Brammeier has been named this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Co-Player-of-the-Week for the week of Aug. 30- Sept. 5. Brammeier shares the award with Kendra Potgeter from Dordt College.
Brammeier (Lincoln, Neb.) had an outstanding start to the 2010 season as she led the Prairie Wolves to a 4-0 record in the first weekend of action. She averaged 5.0 kills per set for the week while hitting at .304. She also totaled 34 digs (2.62 dps) and had eight blocks. She had a match high 23 kills in a win over Bethel (Minn.) and hit .467 with 17 kills in the final win over Willamette.
The Lincoln Southwest H.S., product was a Second-Team All-American last season and is in her fourth year as a starter for the Prairie Wolves.
Nebraska Wesleyan opens Great Plains Athletic Conference play Tuesday (Sept. 7) when they host Midland Lutheran College in the home opener for the Prairie Wolves. This is one of only two home matches for NWU during the month of September.
