The Nebraska Wesleyan University football team will make their home
debut this Saturday (Sept. 11) when they host one of the premier teams in NAIA football as NWU takes on No. 5 Morningside College. Kickoff between the Prairie Wolves and the Mustangs is set for 1 p.m., at Abel Stadium (Weary Field) in Lincoln, Neb.
The game can be heard live locally on KFOR 1240 AM or online at
kfor1240.com with veteran broadcaster Dick Janda calling the action.
NWU will try to rebound from its disappointing 3-0 loss to open the season last Saturday (Sept. 4) at Concordia in Seward. The Prairie Wolves defense held Concordia to just one field goal and had a huge goal line stand in the second quarter, but NWU could not take advantage. The Prairie Wolves missed three field goals, including a 41-yard attempt that was blocked late in the fourth quarter.
Morningside, ranked fifth in the NAIA Top 25, rolled past Doane, 40-7,
in their opening game last Saturday in Sioux City. The Mustangs ran up 490 yards of total offense and dominated the Tigers to start GPAC play.
