The Northwestern College women's golf team captured the team championship by one stroke over Midland Lutheran at the eight-team Doane Invite played at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb.
The Red Raiders shot a 360 on the par 71, 5,965-yard course and edged second place Midland Lutheran (361) by one stroke. Hastings placed third with a 372, followed by Morningside (374) and Briar Cliff (376).
Maggie Rozenboom earned medalist honors with a 13-over 84, three shots in front of second place golfers Kaitie Meyer (87) and Teri Schafer (87). Rozenboom, now with three top five finishes in four events this year, opened her round with a 39 and followed with a 45 on the back nine. Freshman Taylor Kline registered her best finish of the season, tying for fourth place with an 88 (44/44). Sara Horn tied for seventh with a 91 and Andria Hinz tied for 21st with a 97. Kayla Johnson (T31-106) and Abby Van Gorp (T28-104) were other Raider golfers.
The Red Raider junior varsity will next play at the two-day Lila Frommelt Classic in Sioux City, Iowa on Sept. 24-25.
