In a touch of strategy and gamesmanship, the New England Patriots have signed former New York Jets wide receiver and running back Danny Woodhead, according to the Boston Herald.
Woodhead was with the Jets last week until they signed wide receiver David Clowney.
Woodhead could provide some inside information about the Jets to the Patriots' coaching staff.
He's also a solid, albeit diminutive football player who caught eight passes for 87 yards and rushed for 64 yards on 15 carries.
The Jets signed quarterback Kevin O'Connell last year before playing the Patriots last year and even installed him as a game captain.
Now, the Patriots have answered in a similar fashion by adding Woodhead.
