Creighton Eliminates San Diego, Stays Alive with 8-2 Win

Shane Liska held San Diego to one run over five innings and Anthony Bemboom had three RBIs as Creighton defeated the Toreros 8-2 in an elimination game Saturday at the Los Angeles Regional.

Chase Webb, Mark Winkelman and Kurt Spomer held San Diego to one run in relief of Liska (3-4) over the final four innings for the
Bluejays (27-29).

Bemboom's RBI single in the fourth and two-run single in the
fifth gave the Bluejays an 8-1 lead after five innings. Nick
Judkins had three hits and an RBI for Creighton.

Paul Sewald (8-4) took the loss for San Diego. After finishing
the regular season with the third-most wins in school history, the
Toreros (40-17) lost both games in the regional and scored only two
runs.

Saturday marked the first time San Diego and Creighton have played each other.
