The Tiger volleyball team picked up their first conference victory of the season on Tuesday evening in Seward as Doane defeated Concordia University in three sets. Game scores were 25-23, 25-22 and 25-12. The Tigers now hold a 14-4 overall record and 1-1 mark in the GPAC.
Susan Rollman had a dominating performance to pace the Tigers as she had 12 kills in 19 attack attempts for a .579 attack percentage. She added seven total blocks in the match. Ashley Axmann was second on the team with 10 kills. As a team, the Tigers hit .301 for the match, posting 43 kills on 93 attacks with only 15 errors. In the final set, Doane hit .435 with 12 kills.
Defensively, Doane finished with 10 team blocks. Miranda Wisehart added four assist blocks to Rollman’s total and also picked up 33 set assists. In the back row, Doane had 48 digs, led by Desiree Erikson’s 12 digs. Wisehart added 10 digs for the Tigers.
Amanda Kisker’s 12 kills and seven digs paced Concordia. Carli Smith led the team with 11 digs.
Doane will travel to Yankton, S.D., on Saturday to face Mount Marty College
