Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Football Players-of-the-Week Announced

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following football players of the week for games played on Saturday, November 6, 2010. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2010-2011 GPAC Players of the Week and Players and Coaches of the Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Football Players of the Week

Offense – Anthony Muilenburg, Wide Receiver – Dakota Wesleyan

Dakota Wesleyan wide receiver Anthony Muilenburg is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player of the Week. Muilenburg, a sophomore from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, totaled eight receptions for 144 yards with two touchdowns as the Tigers defeated Briar Cliff 49-14. He caught a 56 yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and the total yardage is a season single game high. Dakota Wesleyan totaled 400 total yards through the air and 561 yards of total offense as they improved to 5-4 with the win. The Tigers will host 7th ranked Morningside on Saturday in week eleven action at 1PM.

Defense – Jonathon Bos, Defensive Tackle - Midland

Midland defensive tackle Jonathon Bos is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player of the Week. Bos, a sophomore from Clarkson, Nebraska, posted three solo and nine assist tackles as the Warriors won at Nebraska Wesleyan 14-6. In the win, the first against the Prairie Wolves since 2003 (first win in Lincoln since 1996), he also added 2.5 tackles for loss. 19th ranked Midland improved to 8-2 (7-2) in the GPAC and will host 15th ranked Northwestern on Saturday in a 1PM game in Fremont, Nebraska.

Special Teams – James Rodriquez, Kicker – Northwestern

Northwestern kicker James Rodriquez is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player of the Week. Rodriquez, a sophomore from Riverside, California, connected on four field goals in the Red Raiders win at home over Concordia 26-6. He made field goals of 49, 23, 28, and 31 yards. For the season he is 12-15 in field goals and 31-32 for extra points. 15th ranked Northwestern improved to 7-2 and will play at Midland on Saturday.
