Former Nebraska-Kearney cornerback Arthur Hobbs has received a tryout offer with the San Diego Chargers.
Hobbs (5-11, 180 lbs.), a native of San Diego, will work out with the team on Thursday, May 10th. If things go well, the Chargers could sign him to a free agent deal similar to the one offensive linemen Stephen Goodin recently signed with the New York Giants.
On March 18th, Hobbs was a part of San Diego State's pro day, giving him a chance to shine in front of many NFL teams. The CFL (Canadian Football League) has also shown strong interest in him.
A transfer from Grossmont College, Hobbs was a two-year starter for the Lopers who led Division II in passes defended this year (24; six interceptions and 18 pass breakups).
Also making 54 tackles, he was named first-team All-RMAC and made several All-American teams as well.
