Brock Fitzgerald of Lincoln has been selected to the United States Youth Soccer Region II Boys Olympic Development Program Pool Team in his age group.
Regional and national coaches selected him at a regional camp held in Overland Park, Kansas. At this camp, the top 18 players from each of our 14 Midwestern State Soccer Associations competed for selection to the Pool Team.
Brock is the son of Jeanie and Scott Fitzgerald. He is a junior student at Lincoln Pius X. He is a member of the Omaha Football Club U-17 Elite 1, coached by Mike Dean and also a member of the Lincoln Pius X High School soccer team, coached by Harlan Milder.
According to Ellie Singer, Region II Administrator for the Olympic Development Program, "being selected to the regional pool is a major accomplishment. Brock Fitzgerald will be observed now and in the future for possible selection to a United States National Team. Some of these players have gone on to win Olympic Medals and are represented on the FIFA World Cup, U S Olympic and U S National Teams."
