Midland University fell in their first road game of the season on Tuesday, as they were defeated by College of Saint Mary, 87-70.
Freshman Jamilah Johnson led the Warriors with 17 points, while Darien Moon recorded 15 points. Jami Thramer earned her second double-double of the season, scoring 11 points while hauling in 10 rebounds.
During the first half, the Warriors out-shot the Flames from the field 41 percent to 37 percent. However, Midland ended the first half trailing College of Saint Mary, 31-39.
The Warriors shot better in the second half, hitting 44.1 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc. Yet, they were unable to contain a College of Saint Mary team that hit nearly 60 percent of their second half shots.
Midland University went 43 percent from the field and 68 percent from the line in the loss.
The loss brings Midland University’s record to 3-2 on the season. Action resumes on Saturday, Nov. 19, as they open their conference season versus No. 1 Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.
