Northwestern College will host a track and field camp on Saturday, March 10 for all high school athletes in grades 9-12 at the indoor track and field practice facility in the Rowenhorst Student Center.
Nate Wolf, head track and field/cross country coach, will serve as the Camp Director, and will be assisted by Kyle Blankers (Assistant track and field coach) and Nick Fynaardt (Assistant Coach-Throwers).
The primary purpose of this camp is to provide high school track & field athletes with event-specific instruction in the sprints, hurdles, jumps, and throws. The camp will cover the basic principles of training in each event as well as proper technique and form drills.
Our desire is to help athletes build a solid foundation in the technical aspects of their events for the upcoming track season.
There will be two sessions offered:
Session 1: (Shot Put, Sprints, High Jump)-9:00am-Noon
Session 2: (Discus, Hurdles, Long Jump)-1:00-4:00pm
*each athlete can register for up to ONE event per session (ie: session 1-sprints, session 2-hurdles). Spots for each event offered will be guaranteed to the first 15 athletes who register. Deadline to register is Friday, Feb. 24.
