The Omaha Beef are pleased to announce the signings of Antonio Charles and AJ Toscano for the upcoming Indoor Football League season.
Charles, a 6’1, 220 lb defensive back, is a former First-Team All Gulf South Conference player out of Arkansas Tech. Charles led the Wonder Boys in 2010 with 87 total tackles, including 57 solo tackles, while starting in all 11 games. During his two year career at Arkansas Tech, Charles racked up 132 total tackles, 2.5 sacks and two interceptions.
Toscano, a 6’1, 215 lb quarterback, was a two year starter at Charleston Southern. Toscano completed over 59% of his career passes for 3232 yards and 22 touchdowns for the Buccaneers.
“Once again the Beef are able to add some great talent on both sides of the ball,” Beef head coach Bruce Cowdrey said. “AJ has a great, quick release and superb accuracy. His running ability allows him to make some big plays as well. Antonio is one of the most athletic defensive backs that I have seen on video. From the years I’ve been coaching indoor football, he may be one of the most dominant defensive backs I have seen.”
Omaha will begin preparation for the 2012 IFL season when camp opens on February 13.
