Nebraska Wesleyan moved up one spot to No. 19 in the final regular season AVCA Division III Coaches Top 25 that was released on Tuesday (Nov. 9).
NWU will take its 23-5 overall record into the NCAA III National Volleyball Tournament this week. The Prairie Wolves are the No. 6 seed in the St. Thomas, Minn., region and will face the No. 3 seed Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Friday night (Nov. 12) at 5:30 pm in St. Paul, Minn.
Wisconsin-Eau Claire is ranked No. 17 in this week’s poll. Three other teams in the eight-team regional also appear in the Top 25. Top-seeded St. Olaf is ranked No. 11, second-seed and host school St. Thomas is one spot back at No. 12, while the fourth seed Concordia-Moorhead is ranked No. 18. Two other regional teams, Whitworth and Puget Sound, are the first two teams receiving votes.
The Prairie Wolves will be competing in their seventh straight NCAA Tournament this week. NWU already has compiled 23 victories, which is the most wins for NWU since 1998. The 23-5 overall record is the second best winning percentage in school history behind the 1988 team that ended 45-9.
