It's a notion that sounds familiar. Maybe even cliche.

"I just wanted to live the American dream."

For Ebba Forssberg, It is a reality. From Sweden, she arrived in the States in August to soak in what America has to offer.

Forssberg, along with fellow foreigner Anna Warth, from Austria, admit it's a little different than what they thought.

"You know, you've seen the movies with all of the gossip all of the soccer, I mean, the American Football players and such. And cheerleaders," Forssberg said.

"I've heard of a beach and stuff, but you really can't have that here," laughed Anna Warth.

An avid tennis player from a young age, Forssberg, a junior at GICC, says there are big differences between play here and abroad. She has adjusted and even found success in her brief time in GI, says Coach Matt Westfall.

"She's cracked the top 6 of our varsity and is actually our top singles player. She's been a real good surprise for us and so far has contributed quite a bit."

Forrsberg will return to Sweden in May and will be able to brag to her friends about doing something most American players take for granted. Playing outside.

"It was quite some difference, it was it was really windy and the sun with in your eyes it was really challenging in the beginning," she said.

Our first practice outside was the first time Ebba had ever played outside in her life. So the wind, the sun, the rain were pretty new to her," said Westfall.

The experience has not been one sided though, Ebba has schooled the Crusaders in the Swedish lifestyle.

"Our last away game was at Kearney, and for the 45 minutes to Kearney we talked about what it's like in Sweden and what do you do in Sweden," said Westfall.

The Crusaders are back in action Tuesday against St. Cecilia.
