Reporter: Associated Press

A program that helps teens is getting some help itself.

The Teammates mentoring program at Crete High School received $50,000 from Smithfield Foods.

The program pairs teens with adult mentors who are positive role models for high school students.

Teens says they love the program and they're not the only ones.

"The kids just absorb this, they love it. The mentors come in every week for following them through graduation. And they play games, they work on homework, they visit, talk about things going on in their family, their lives with teenagers, with middle school, stuff like that and the mentors work along side with it. And the kids just love it. And the mentors learn so much from it to," said Program Director Zoe White.

This is the second donation of $50,000 from Smithfield Foods and the second picnic to celebrate.
