KOLN Reporters Bridget Fargen and Tony DeGrand are in Colorado Springs helping our sister station KKTV cover the massive wildfires.
"I know how tiring covering large-scale breaking news can be; I'm happy to be able to help in any way I can," said Fargen. "Viewers there are trying to evacuate and need essential information, but the reporters at KKTV are also dealing with exhaustion, trying to evacuate their own homes and need a break."
"Even though we forecast for Nebraska, we've got our eyes on our neighbors to the west," said DeGrand. "The wildfires have been a concern for a long time because of the warm and dry pattern we've been in. I just hope to provide relief to the KKTV weather team who've been covering the situation non-stop.

Obama will tour Colorado fires, thank firefighters
The White House says President Barack Obama will tour the scene of devastating wildfires in Colorado on Friday, and thank firefighters battling some of the worst fires to hit the
American West in decades.
Obama called Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper on Wednesday, along with the mayor of Colorado Springs, where a raging wildfire destroyed dozens of houses and charred land on the edges of the
U.S. Air Force Academy.
The White House says Obama expressed his concern about the extent of damage to homes in the Colorado Springs area, and underscored that the administration is bringing "all resources to
bear to assist local responders" in Colorado and other Western states affected by fires.
More than 8,400 personnel, 578 fire engines and 79 helicopters are operating on wildfires around the U.S.
