Home Badly Damaged by Vandals

You won't believe the incredible and awful damage vandals did to a home at 3430 Daniel Road in Lincoln.

It's believed that sometime late in the evening July 3rd, or in the wee hours of July 4th, vandals broke into the home through the attached garage and turned the place into a disaster zone, literally. In fact, at one point a hazmat crew was called in to make sure the home was safe to enter, hours after the destruction was done. (It was found to be safe.)

Using various household chemicals, food items, spray paint, and anything else they could get their hands on, the vandal, or vandals, (it's not sure if there was one or more vandals involved) methodically went room to room, not sparing any of them, and caused immense damage.

They spray painted walls and family pictures. They threw food on walls and clothing, and on furniture and floors as well. A car in the garage was spray painted, from bumper to bumper. Electronic equipment was also targeted with some sort of goo.

Rod Root, brother of the homeowner--who is currently on vacation-- told 1011 News that no one has yet been caught. He also said, "Once the family gets back in town, I think the list of suspects will narrow." The family now knows about the damage.

The home cannot be lived in until it is professionally cleaned.
Damage is estimated to be at least in the tens of thousands of dollars and maybe more.

In addition to the visible damage, the home smells of various odors.
