There's a new place in Lincoln providing people who need some help a dignified way of getting back on their feet.
Pastor Tom Barber, Executive Director of the People's City Mission cut the ribbon Thursday at the New Homeless Prevention Center.
The new facility located at 26th and O has everything a family needs from canned goods to produce, even clothing and furniture for those who can't afford the basics.
"What got us excited was we could make it look nice and we could make it dignified. and people felt good about coming here. That is very important to helping people out. We are excited about what's going on here," Barber said.
In 2011, the People's City Mission distributed more than 1-million pounds of food, helping more than 20,000 residents.
