Send Man Drowns in Lake North near Columbus

A 43-year-old man has drowned in a lake near Columbus after going into the water to cool off while fishing with friends.

The Platte County Sheriff's Office says Alfonso Nunez Sermeno
drowned Saturday evening in Lake North, which is just north of
Columbus.

Witnesses report that he began having trouble swimming then went
underwater and never resurfaced.

The Platte County Dive and Rescue team recovered the body at
8:32 p.m. Saturday.
