Deadly Crashes More Common Closer to Tax Day - Laura Berry Reporting
Drivers have a higher chance of getting into a deadly crash as tax day draws closer. That's according to statistics compiled by the American Medical Association.
Luckily, Nebraska drivers set themselves apart from the rest of the nation. But it doesn't mean we don't have concerns in the Cornhusker State. Rainy days like today can mean more fender benders.
Fred Zwonechek of the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety says whether you're dealing with a tax deadline or remembering how to drive in the rain...Defensive driving saves lives.
Zwonechek said "make sure that you have your seat belts on and everyone in your vehicle has them on and is using them." He adds that the best way to stay safe is to use common sense by doing things like not following too closely.
