Teen star Andy Scott Harris had rave reviews for Ravenna, which served as the filming location for "The Boarder." Today the movie had its world premiere at The Grand theater in downtown Grand Island. The matinee sneak preview premiere had all the Hollywood trappings, including red carpet, fancy cars, and top hats.

"The Boarder" lead actor Andy Scott Harris: "I'm used to, like, close-knit cities. But, coming to Ravenna, it's like, small population, everybody knows everybody, and it was just really nice and cozy. I really enjoyed it."

And, the film is making an impact in multiple ways.

"The Boarder" actress and line producer Peggy Philips: "The fact that they're coming out, all these families who've had this difficulty with kids with reactive attachment disorder who've been institutionalized, which is the hardest thing to do when you have kids, for them to say that there's hope -- which is what this movie is about and that there's hope out there is the most important thing."

At The Grand theater, they were serving up hot popcorn and classic movie treats, but nothing could be quite as sweet as seeing a real movie premiere return to a Nebraska theater.

And, filming the footage in Ravenna had a significant impact on the small town's economy.

Sharon Loy's home is also Ravenna's "The Printed Page" bed and breakfast, which served as hotel, headquarters, and movie set for the film crew: "I think it did bring a lot of people into Ravenna, the movie makers, and then, as the word gets out, I think a lot of people are coming into Ravenna.

Ravenna resident Tiffany Mock: "All the extra people being in town, it brought in a lot of extra income for everybody. Restaurants, the grocery stores, there's a hotel/motel there in town. Everybody benefits."
