Teaching Safe Driving in Math & Science- Bonney Bowman Reports at 6

Car crashes are the number one killer of Americans under the age of 34, but a summer program hopes to change that.

This group of teachers is working to new develop lesson plans designed to teach kids about safe driving using advanced math and science concepts like force and velocity in crash scenarios.

The teachers say it's another tool they can use to make sure kids understand the importance of being safe while behind the wheel.

A group of students will test drive the lessons later in the summer.

If they're successful the plans will be released to other teachers around the country.
