Fireworks Sales Big Business, Big Money- Bonney Bowman Reports

Fourth of July fireworks sales are big business and they can also mean big bucks for the local economy.

Fireworks vendors are setting up in Lincoln, ready for sales to start Tuesday.

This is the second year Lincoln tents can sell all the same kinds of fireworks as the rest of the state.

Vendors say this has translated into more sales and more sales tax dollars for the city and the state.

Fireworks are on sale in the capital city for two days, the Fourth and the day before.

One former city council member estimated millions of dollars in sales could take place in just those two days.

The sales tax revenue goes into the general fund and it can be used for anything the city needs, including infrastructure or contract issues.
