Toddler Dies After Being Found in Backyard Pool in Blair

Authorities are investigating the death of a toddler found in a backyard pool at an in-home day care in Blair.
Authorities say the accident occurred a little before 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The 17-month-old girl was found in about 4 feet of water. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.
An autopsy has been ordered.
Her name has not been released.
She was one of a half-dozen children at the state-licensed day care.
The pool is gated, and a deck connects it to the house. Police say there was an adult on the premises.
The Blair Police Department and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services are investigating.
