Pershing Center and the Nebraska Pork Producers Association are hosting the 15th annual Ribfest in downtown Lincoln August 9 - 12.
BBQ pit bosses from around the country gather to showcase their talents and serve up award-winning barbeque to southeastern Nebraskans. This festival is unique to Lincoln in that barbeque is the focal point of the event.
BBQ fans can now taste Southern, Texas style, Australian, Memphis and Southwestern BBQ, all without leaving Lincoln.
Ribfest is 11 a.m. - midnight Thursday - Saturday. Sunday hours are 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The event is just outside the Pershing Center on "N" Street, 16th Street to 14th; and Centennial Mall "M" to "O".
Admission is free Thursday and Friday 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Otherwise it's $4 for adults and kids 11 and under are free.
"Suggested admission" is a can of food for the Food Bank of Lincoln.
No coolers or outside food or beverages allowed in the festival area. Also no skateboards or bicycles inside the festival area.
