Ashley Miller represented the Huskers in the semifinals of the 1,500 meters, while former Husker Kayla Wilkinson-Colgrove competed in the javelin at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore., on Friday.
Miller finished with a personal-best time of 4:11.49, finishing 16th overall. Although she recorded the best time of her career, it would not be enough to qualify for the event finals. With the time, she barely missed breaking the school record of 4:11.37.
Wilkinson-Colgrove qualified for the finals of the women’s javelin as she recorded an eighth-place finish with a throw of 171-6 (52.27). She will compete in the event finals on Sunday, July 1 at 4:45 p.m. CT.
