Signing autographs and taking pictures for fans is nothing new to Nebraska's Rex Burkhead

"I'll definitely sign it for them. I'll give them my attention because they're supportive of me," Burkhead commented.

Fans have flocked to the running back for the past three years at Nebraska's fan day, however, it's not just his productivity on the field that makes him an instant star. It's his work ethic and personality that also contribute to making him a fan favorite of Husker fans all across the state.

"We realize as college football players at the University of Nebraska that we have the privledge and platform to be able to do other things that some people wouldn't be able to do," said Burkhead.

"All they want is a little bit of your time, so you might as well give it to them. Might as well interact with them and see what's going on in their lives."

With one year left in his career, Burkhead is poised to climb the Nebraska career rushing chart, after putting up over 2,600 yards, but perhaps the biggest number is not the yards, but the number of lives he's touched by being a member of the Huskers.
