Lindsay Gulin Released by Saltdogs

Lincoln Saltdogs legend Lindsay Gulin is a Saltdog no more.

Lincoln's former All-Decade pitcher is released by the team on Monday, after struggling to a 5.94 ERA in nine starts this season.

Gulin set a team record with 13 wins for Lincoln in 2006, posting a 2.10 ERA and bringing home the Star of Stars Award.

The crafty southpaw has hurled for five different Major League organizations, twice reaching Triple-A, and earned a spot on the Pacific Coast League (AAA) All-Star Team in 2008.

Gulin, whose professional baseball career has now spanned 16 seasons, was drafted in the 16th round of the 1995 MLB amateur draft by the New York Mets.

In 13 total seasons pitching professionally in the United States, Gulin has notched a 118-67 record, logging more than 1,600 innings, while establishing a career 3.49 ERA.

Gulin is replaced on Lincoln's roster by former Central Oklahoma pitcher Jordan Stern.
