ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Michigan says baseball coach Rich
Maloney won't return after his contract runs out June 30.
Athletic director Dave Brandon said Tuesday that he and Maloney
"agreed a coaching change at this time was in the best interest of
the program." Maloney says he and the Wolverines reached the
decision together.
Michigan was 22-34 in 2012. The Wolverines finished 10th among
the Big Ten conference's 11 baseball teams and had a losing record
for the second straight year.
Michigan was 341-244 in 10 seasons under Maloney. In that time,
Michigan won three Big Ten titles and two conference championships.
