DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Illinois star Andrew Riley leaned across
the finish line to hold off Auburn's Harry Adams and Florida
State's Maurice Mitchell in the 100 meters Friday in the NCAA

Riley won in 10.272 seconds, just two-hundredths ahead of Adams
and five-hundredths faster than Mitchell in the session's most
thrilling race.

Oregon's English Gardner won the women's 100 in 11.10, holding
off LSU star Kimberlyn Duncan, while Florida's Tony McQuay and
Illinois' Ashley Spencer set collegiate marks for 2012 in winning
the 400s.

The meet concludes Saturday with the LSU and Oregon women tied
for first with 40 points apiece. The Florida men lead by eight
points over Virginia Tech as they try for their first outdoor title
after capturing the last three indoor crowns.
