Monday, Jeff Rapp, an analyst for WTVN radio in Columbus reported Bo Pelini was one of three candidates interviewed for Ohio State's head coaching job.

A UNL spokesperson told 10/11 that according to Pelini there was "absolutely no truth whatsoever" to that report.

Rapp has since retracted the report.

ESPN is reporting that Ohio State has hired Urban Meyer as its football coach.

Meyer has worked for the sports network the past year. The network did not cite a source for its report.

Meyer won two national championships at Florida and is returning to his Ohio roots by becoming coach of a Buckeyes team facing NCAA
problems.

No announcement has been set by Ohio State, although there were reports that a team meeting set for Sunday night has been moved to
Monday afternoon.

Meyer has a 10-year record of 104-23. He takes over a program that has been hit by several suspensions and the forced resignation of coach Jim Tressel. The Buckeyes completed a 6-6 season under interim Luke Fickell with a 40-34 loss to rival Michigan on Saturday.
