Former Husker, Joba Chamberlain has been activated from the disabled list by the New York Yankees.
Chamberlain, had been on the disabled list as he recovered from Tommy John surgery and a right ankle dislocation.
He was activated after the Yankees traded right-handed reliever Chad Qualls to Pittsburgh for infielder Casey McGehee.
In his last minor league appearance, Chamberlain struck out three in a scoreless 1 1/3 innings in Class AA Trenton.
In his seven rehab appearances, Chamberlain struck out 10 batters in 9 1/3 innings, only giving up one home run.
Chamberlain, last pitched in the majors on June 5, 2011.
